The spiritual successor to Metastasis, Somber Summer continues where its predecessor left off sonically while taking a slight turn thematically. Bother albums were recorded back to back which is evident if you listen to one right after the other. Somber Summer explores themes of denial, willful ignorance, and the feeling that something seems off but you can't quite describe what it is. While Metastasis was about the grief of living through the past few years, Somber Summer is about burying those feelings and moving on as if the events of the last several years never happened.
